SEAMLESS GRANDEUR

A seamless plaster restoration graces the ceiling of the parlor at an architecture office located on one of the most beautiful streets in America - Jones Street in Savannah, Georgia. Landmark Preservation was tasked with the restoration of a fallen ornamental plaster ceiling, that left the decorative finial and garland cornice in pieces.

Landmark Preservation’s own craftsmen repaired the original and cast the remaining ornamental elements. Our responsibilities included:

  • Leveling the ceiling, almost 3 inches in some areas, using plaster injections to re-key the plaster to its lath

  • Installation of new lath

  • Installation of flatwork plaster

  • Repair of ornate finial and garland decorative plaster

  • Fabrication of running molds

  • Complete re-installation of decorative plaster elements
